Gemert: Commandery Town in the Brabant Peel Region
Gemert has about 15,995 residents and lies in North Brabant within the gemeente Gemert-Bakel. The town is historically connected to the Teutonic Order, which held a commandery here from the 13th century. The Kasteel van Gemert, the former commandery building, still stands in the centre and is used for events and exhibitions.
