Meerhoven: Eindhoven's Newest District Near the Airport
Construction began in the late 1990s on what was farmland south of Eindhoven Airport, and Meerhoven has been growing since. The district was planned from scratch with contemporary urban design: varied housing types, artificial water features, and a central park. About 7,175 residents live here, making it one of Eindhoven's youngest neighbourhoods.
Eindhoven Airport sits directly north, which means regular air traffic overhead but also convenient travel connections. The ASML campus and High Tech Campus Eindhoven are within a few kilometres, drawing technology workers who settle in Meerhoven's newer housing. Eindhoven's centre is about 6 kilometres northeast.
