Absorbed into Breda in 1997 but still defiantly itself, Prinsenbeek maintains its own village centre, carnival association, and community events. The annual carnavalsoptocht is one of the larger village parades in the Breda area. About 10,720 residents live along the A16 corridor northwest of Breda's urban core.
The Markt and the Sint-Martinuskerk give the centre its Brabant village character. The Mark river valley to the east provides green space and walking routes.
